Hey, I’m Jameson Tabor—award-winning recording artist, producer, and founder of The Tabor Studio.

Q. Do you work with beginners?
Not usually. Record-Ready is designed for artists who already have some experience singing, writing, performing, or making music and are ready to take the next step.
That said, "beginner" means different things to different people. I've had singers who thought they were beginners but were actually much further along than they realized—and I've worked with experienced artists who still needed to strengthen some of the fundamentals.
That's exactly why I have everyone fill out an application and schedule a call first. We'll figure out where you're at, whether this is the right fit, and if it's not, I'll point you in the right direction.
Q. How is 'Record-Ready' different from regular voice lessons?
Most voice lessons focus on helping you become a better singer. Record-Ready is about helping you become a better artist.
Of course we'll work on technique—your tone, range, control, agility, and all the things you need to sing well—but everything is built around the music you actually want to make.
The goal isn't to sound like the original artist or just become a great singer. It's to develop your signature sound and learn how to translate that into your own recordings.
You're not just learning how to sing better. You're learning how to sound more like yourself.
Q. What's the time commitment?
You'll meet with me for one hour each week, and I recommend about 15–20 minutes of focused practice most days between sessions.
It's front-loaded, so the first couple of weeks usually take a bit more time because we'll be building your Signature Sound Blueprint together. That means asking some deeper questions about your artistry, your influences, and where you want to go so we have a clear direction for everything that follows.
You'll also have access to optional workshops, showcases, community events, and feedback opportunities if you want even more chances to grow. Those aren't required—but they're a great way to accelerate your progress.
Q. Do I need to live in Los Angeles?
Not at all.
This entire program is designed to be done remotely over Zoom—including the vocal coaching, building your Signature Sound Blueprint, and even the recording sessions. I'll guide you through using professional remote recording software, so you can get high-quality results from wherever you are.
If you are in Los Angeles, you'll also have opportunities to attend in-person showcases, workshops, and community events. But don't worry—we host virtual events too.
Artists from anywhere in the world are welcome.
Q. Can 'Record-Ready' actually move the needle for me?
Yes... or else why would we do this? LOL...
Most artists can feel a shift within the first few weeks—more control, clarity, and confidence in their voice.
Deeper breakthroughs will come with consistent practice over a few months—just like training for a sport. Record-Ready gives you a custom path for your voice and goals, so each phase builds on the last and accelerates your growth in a way scattered lessons or self-teaching simply don’t.
Q. What if I'm not sure 'Record-Ready' is right for me?
That's completely okay—that's exactly why the first step is a short application and a conversation.
You'll answer a few quick questions about your experience, your goals, and the kind of artist you want to become. From there, we'll hop on a call, build a little clarity together, and see if Record-Ready is actually the right fit.
If I don't think I'm the best person to help you right now, I'll tell you.
And if we do decide to move forward, we'll spend our first two sessions creating your Signature Sound Blueprint together. If you're not excited about the direction we're heading after that, I'll refund you in full.
